One in three men think women make too much fuss about celebrating Christmas, a new study suggests.
Red Tractor Beef and Lamb polled 2,000 men on festive season celebrations and found that they believe these festivities would be less rushed, cheaper and less stressful if they were in charge.
A quarter of men said they would replace the traditional turkey with a different meat and almost a fifth would opt for steak and chips or even a takeaway.
One in two wouldnt bother sending Christmas cards and 40 per cent would dodge a visit to the dreaded in-laws.
The research also revealed that kids would be forced to help in the kitchen and presents would be bought gift-wrapped.
Meanwhile a separate study for UK holiday company Butlins found that children also have strong ideas about the way they would like to celebrate Christmas.
Forty per cent would rather Santa brought them time with their parents than a sackful of gifts, and 25 per cent hope for visits from family members they rarely see during the year, although 15 per cent of these worry about the risk of family reunions leading to arguments
