Transformers, the toys that first made their Christmas appearance in 1985, are set to be at the top of most children's letters to Santa this year.
According to a list complied by toys megastore Toys R Us, the most popular and demanded toys have included Sylvanian Families (1987), Teenage Ninja Turtles (1990), Power Rangers (1994) and Bob the Builder (2001).
Toys R Us have predicted the best selling toys for 2009, with Sylvanian Families back in the list after 12 years. Other toys making up the list include Ben 10 Alien Creation Chamber, Peppa Pigs’ Princess Palace, and Bakugan Battle Arena.
Last year, the High School Musical Dance Mat, Ben 10 Watch £14.99 and Nintendo Wii were the most popular items on every child's letter to Santa.
